The Sumter Public Safety Department faced the challenge of providing services in an efficient and timely manner for the growing city. The new complex centrally located its services to meet those needs.
The scope of our work included casework, cabinetry, countertops, inset display case, storage shelving, window sills and aprons, workstations, wood ceiling panels, and wood-paneled walls. The cabinetry and casework utilize scratch-resistant plastic laminate surfaces in natural teak. Service counters, countertops, and workstations feature granite tops.
Our work is found throughout the facility including, janitorial and supply rooms, bathrooms, exercise room, janitorial and supply closets, and the walk-in pantry. Our highlighted areas include the front lobby, the administrative workstation, conference room, kitchen, and kitchenette area.
The conference room’s wood panel wall was fabricated in-house using red oak veneers, with black edgebands. Ceiling panels, manufactured in-house with birch veneers, were installed in the conference room and the front lobby.
The kitchen utilizes a 23-foot-long granite countertop along with a matching 10-foot-wide service bar. The cooking area includes a convenient commercial-sized wash area for large pots and utensils. Along the back wall, we fabricated and installed large storage cabinets, as well as adjustable shelving in the walk-in pantry.
All the cabinets and open casework were engineered, fabricated in-house using plastic laminates with natural teak fronts, and installed by the Specialty Woodworks team.
