Our leadership works hand-in-hand with every team to meet project budgets, materials management, fully leverage our woodworking expertise, and deliver the customer's expectations in a timely manner.
PRESIDENT & OWNER
Craig joined us in 2014. Craig is a 2004 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Since joining Specialty Woodworks, Craig has worked with the team on some of the flagship projects the company is most proud of.
In September of 2023, Craig became owner and president of Specialty Woodworks. He is succeeding Graham and heading up the same team that has made the company so successful.
Craig and his wife enjoy being on the water with their two boys, traveling, and USC & Fireflies baseball.
VP, MARKETING & SALES
Bill has more than 40 years in the architectural woodwork and casework business. A forestry graduate of West Virginia University specializing in wood technology, Bill’s well-rounded experience includes estimating, project management, and sales and marketing for two prominent manufacturers in the Carolinas and three national casework lines. His multi-faceted exposure to the industry has enabled us to expand our services and offer new product lines.
Bill is a member of the Professional Construction Estimators Association, where he has served as National President (2015-2016) and is the recipient of their prestigious Randolph John Barnes Award.
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Roy joined Specialty Woodworks in 2013 as a craftsman with over 20 years’ experience in woodworking. In the same year, he was promoted to Shop Foreman with a focus on shop workflow.
In 2020, Roy became the Operations Manager overseeing project flow and scheduling, ensuring each project is completed on time, and within budget.
Roy lives in Summerville, SC, with his wife, Cathy. When he isn't spending time with his children and grandchildren, you will find him touring mountain roads on his Harley Davidson.
SHOP FOREMAN
Billy came to Specialty Woodworks in 2013 – working as an installer on many of our projects. He is a fourth-generation woodworker and began his career in our shop’s cabinet cell, quickly graduating to a specialty bench. As our current Shop Foreman, he oversees production quality while continuing his craftsmanship in woodwork and millwork for our clients. He works closely with our Project Managers and Operations Manager to meet deadlines and schedule installations.
Billy enjoys visiting Disney World and time in the mountains. He lives in West Columbia, S.C., with his wife and their two children.
OFFICE & PURCHASING MANAGER
A College of Charleston graduate, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Susan joined us in 2013 after 12 years in the manufacturing and construction fields. Her organizational skills and attention to detail attributes to the company's efficiency. She is our liaison between our project management, engineering, shop teams, and our vendors. Her positive approach relationship with our vendors provide our clients with the best possible product while meeting their deadlines.
Susan is an active member of both the Columbia Society for Human Resource Management and the National Association of Women in Construction.
CONSULTANT
Graham came on board in 1998 with over 20 years experience in business. He enjoys helping clients bring ideas to reality. Graham’s leadership has grown Specialty Woodworks significantly. He is excited to watch the continued growth under the owner leadership of Craig Besley.
Graham is a member of AWI Best Practices, an active member of the Midlands Area Subcontractors Association, and supports the AIA.
Graham enjoys time with his wife, Erin, traveling with his family, and offshore sailing aboard his boat, the Blue Heron.
CHAPLAIN
A pastor since 1999, Pastor Thomas became part of the Specialty Woodworks team in 2012. Thomas visits with our team once a week, speaking with employees individually, and is available company-wide in times of need. He is also the Teaching Pastor and a Founding Elder of the Beacon Church in Irmo, SC.
