AllSouth Federal Credit Union transformed one of Columbia’s unattractive entry points into a professional business landmark with its 3-story headquarters. The 62,000-sf gated facility provides corporate sales offices, a full-service retail branch, executive-level areas and includes a highly secured data center.
The Specialty Woodworks team worked with quarter-sawn fumed larch for a dark smoky appearance, flat-cut figured walnut creating nice surface lines, laminate cladding in high traffic day-to-day work areas, and 3Form materials to create aesthetic additions to various spaces. For durable counters, solid surface tops were integrated into work and leisure areas. Our in-house fabrication abilities and experienced team allowed us to meet the design team’s goals envisioned in the planning stage.
Our work included the colorful, organic abstract panels cascading through the open balcony areas from the third floor to the main foyer. The curved information desk provides an approachable point for customers needing assistance. The wire-suspended privacy wall provides a division of space while its semi-translucent panels allow the area to remain open and bright.
The retail branch features a full-length customer counter with service windows for transaction privacy. Across the branch lobby, three writing stations provide customers a place to complete any necessary forms before approaching the service counter.
In the employee areas and work stations, we provided casework and cabinetry for organization and storage. In the breakroom, we built and installed the cabinets, countertops, and the island with an overhanging counter for barstool seating.
On the executive level, our team built and installed the administrative assistant’s desk, the cabinets, countertop, upholstered bench seating, and wood reveal trim around the executive board room. The flat-cut, figured walnut slats bring the presentation area to the center of attention.
