Meet some of the individual talents behind the success of Specialty Woodworks, Inc.
Graham Houghten, II, Owner/President
Graham came to Specialty Woodworks, Inc. in 1998 with more than 20 years experience in business development and management. During this time Specialty Woodworks has grown from six employees in a 3000 square foot shop producing $500K in annual revenue to its current size: 25 employees in a 13,000 square foot facility producing $3.5 million in annual revenue.
Bill Barton, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Bill has more than 29 years in the architectural woodwork and casework business. A forestry graduate of West Virginia University specializing in wood technology, Bill’s well-rounded experience includes estimating, project management, and sales and marketing for two prominent manufacturers in the Carolinas, and a national casework line. His multi-faceted exposure to the industry has enabled us to expand our services and offer new product lines.
Steve Tapping, Project Manager/Engineer
Steve joined the Specialty Woodworks team in 2004, bringing with him the unique perspective of his varied work experience. Steve began his career as an apprentice in a custom furniture shop in North London more than 35 years ago. Since then, he has specialized in antique vehicle restoration, boat and aircraft woodwork, custom staircases, molding operations, as well as high-end architectural woodwork. His hands-on woodworking experience has added considerable depth to his engineering capabilities. Each step in his career expanded his knowledge base and skills of the woodworking industry, providing a great asset to our company.
Ernie Peralta, Production Manager/Engineer
Ernie began his career in woodworking in 1998, as an apprentice in the veneer department of a local architectural woodworking company. Intrigued by the complexity and challenges of the industry, he made the transition from apprentice to draftsman and engineer. After several years experience as an engineer, Ernie became an engineer with Specialty Woodworks in 2004. His hard work and dedication earned him the promotion to Production Manager one year later.
George McCombs, Installation Manager
George began his career with Specialty Woodworks in 2000, when he was hired as a fabricator for both millwork and casework. He quickly advanced to a management position, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the shop as well as product installation. Today, as our Installation Manager, George coordinates and oversees the installation of every project.
